Sebastian St. James needed an ego check in the worst way.

Aspiring author Kenzie has dragged her best friend and her best friend’s brother to an author’s convection. Walking as fast as she can for being so short in order to get a good seat to listen to the talk from Sebastian St James. She fell in love with his book Embers, which she had managed to get an advanced copy of. His talk, however, is less than inspiring, telling everyone that they might as well give up on their dream. Kenzie being an act first, think later kind of person, chases after him to give him a piece of her mind. Somehow accepting a one-night stand with him backstage.
Four months later and their paths cross again as she attempts to throw a coffee at him at a book signing, fell and then injured herself. Waking to find herself at his house with a doctor looking after her and telling her that she is pregnant. The interactions with Sebastian are still very grumpy and again he waves his magic spell on her, getting her to agree to be his cat sitter whilst he travels for events etc. But a lost cat forces them to interact more and he ends up inviting her to the writer’s retreat his assistant has booked for him.
Sebastian is unable to rationalise why he keeps Kenzie in his life but is thankful for her at the writer’s retreat as it hasn’t gone to plan. She’s managed to break his writer’s block and is keen to capitalise on it. As lines blur, Kenzie is feeling more than she wants, blurting out the news about their baby but are they able to let love into their lives or will they be forever at odds with each other?
