Bittersweet Memories (Off-Limits Book 4) by Catharina Maura

“Don’t dismiss my feelings by bringing up my age. You asked me for my thoughts, and I gave them to you. Take them for what they are, without trying to distort them into something you find easier to handle. If you can’t do that, then don’t ask me what I’m thinking.”

Totally Booked UK Review: Alanna and Silas paths cross in a graveyard – Silas having just buried his father and Alana mourning the loss of her mom. They share a few kind words, and Silas gives Alana a handkerchief to dry her tears, featuring the Ψ symbol. Two years later, their paths cross again at a homeless shelter where Alanna’s father asks her to volunteer after he has been a resident for years. Silas is now a resident after his stepmom kicked him out 3 days after the funeral, and she had inherited everything in the will.

A friendship forms between them as he attends Astor College, hoping to change his life around. Alanna discovers that her home life is built on a house of cards, which crumbles around her. Silas is there to help her pick up the pieces, and she moves into the shelter with him. Astor College’s dreams are gone for Alanna; she is applying for scholarships and grants from other colleges. Finally offered a place, Silas and she have a disagreement, and she rushes out, being hit by a car – their lives are separated for five years.

Living with amnesia following her accident, her brain is protecting itself against the trauma up until that moment. So Alanna doesn’t recognise Silas as he comes into her life, but she is dating his brother! An incident leads her to break things off with Ryan, sleep with Silas and end up working for Sinclair Security on the Ψ team – but what will life hold once secrets are revealed and truths discovered?
