Spencer is loving his internship at Gherring Inc. especially when he sees that Emily is working on the same floor. He has been trying to persuade her to go out with him since they met through her mom. With them both in the same city, it should be easy to get her to agree to a date or two.
The course of true love never did run smoothly and a series of misunderstandings leaves them on a rollercoaster of a ride. Navigating through the ‘Best family dating rules’, reputations and proving their feelings for each other.
One that will have you rooting for them to be together and frustrated that they keep getting diverted.

However, there is an added complication in that he wants to adopt his niece and nephew and needs to get married as soon as possible. With Charlie still not giving him the time of day, he enlists one of their friends Olivia to marry him in exchange for paying her medical school tuition fees.
But when you are in love with someone else and they are in love with you but neither will admit it – despite everyone else knowing. It leads to a whole load of misunderstandings and oneupmanship.
This one left me frustrated whilst reading it as it felt as though they did everything possible not to admit their true feelings.

Best Intentions (The Best Girls #5) by Tamie Dearen
Olivia is finally starting medical school, after working her way through nursing school and various jobs in order to pay her own way. At 27, she is feeling late to the party and very aware that she isn’t where she thought she would be in life – not helped by the fact that her family and friends are all pairing off and having babies.
Collin has somewhat of a player reputation and has never really made the right impression on people he meets. Especially Olivia, who he met two years ago and has been attempting to get on her good side every since. But nothing seems to be working, with her stating that their lives are just too different and that he has no idea what it is like to struggle and work for everything.
With an impromptu kiss, Olivia is left weak at the knees and sending her head swimming with thoughts of Collin. But it would never work, although she is unaware that he has been making changes in his life. All he wants to do is protect and love her, will she ever let him?

This was a fantastic series to read, from finding love after loss, as well as implementing dating rules to help ensure that it is love rather than just lust.
