About the Author – Karl Newson
Karl Newson has enjoyed playing with words and making up stories since he was small. He lives in London with his partner in crime, and the fox and owl who live at the end of the garden. When he isn’t working, Karl likes watching films with his children, listening to music and walking in the woods.
About the Illustrator – Duncan Beedie
Duncan has been drawing and doodling since childhood, sprawled out on his parent’s living room carpet with felt tip in fist. He now sits upright to draw from his studio in Bristol, where he lives with his wife, daughter and demanding springer spaniel.
Shortlisted for the BookTrust Storytime
Developed in partnership with libraries, local authorities and families, the project will help disadvantaged families with young children engage with their local public library so that sharing stories becomes a regular and long-lasting part of family life. Copies of the BookTrust Storytime shortlist will be distributed to all pilot libraries and used to encourage families to make repeat visits to their local library. The books will also be integrated into a raft of resources and activities available in a smaller number of libraries to help bring the magic of reading to life.
