Moving to the city Dvrie has begun to make a life for herself, living with roommates she is happy. Her older protective brother, however, continues to worry about her and during yet another check-in call he mentions that his best friend Alec lives close by and that maybe she should meet up with him so that she has someone she can count on in the city. Devrie is aware that Alec lives in the city, something that may have influenced her decision on moving. Unknown to her brother, Alec was her first kiss before she headed to college and she’s never been able to forget it.

Sitting through another boring meeting Alec is pleased when his phone rings and he slips out to talk to Denny. His best friend asking him to reconnect with Devrie who is now living in the city. giving him a flashback to the girl he kissed on the rooftop of their parent’s house. Agreeing to meet up he gives her a call and makes arrangements for dinner. Blown away by the woman she has become in the years it has been since he has seen her.

Catching up, it is clear that they feel a connection with each other. Sharing a kiss and the promise of more they head back to Alec’s apartment but are interrupted by Denny who has come to check how everything went. As the three of them chat, Devrie makes to leave but the men insist that she stays and Alec will take the sofa but he has middle of a night visit from Devrie. What will Denny have to say about their relationship?

About to write the thesis for her degree, Landry is excited to head up into the mountains to see the homestead of her four-time great aunt Clara Bishop. Since she was a little girl she has been keen to learn all she can about the pioneering woman who lived alone on the mountain for her whole life. Her roommate has managed to arrange for her brother who is a park ranger to take her up to the homestead. Whilst her other friend Bellamy is dropping her off she’s not so happy about Landry heading off up a mountain.

Finally getting a day off Denny is looking forward to a relaxing day of fishing. Heading into the park office early to collect a few things he is suddenly reminded that he’d promised his sister to take Landry over to the Bishop homestead. Giving Devrie a call he attempted to get out of the hike but he can’t say no to his sister and can hear a car heading his way. Closed off from the world since leaving the police force and becoming a park ranger he is surprised by his reaction to Landry as she shoulders her rucksack ready for the hike.

Laundry can tell that Denny isn’t too keen on this trek but is too excited to let it get her down no matter how gruelling the trail is. After a fall Denny is keen to keep an eye on her as they make their last trek to the homestead. Landey is tickled pink by the homestead especially the surprise of finding a missing journal that detailed a love affair Clara had. This could be a big break for Landry but Denny doesn’t feel that her love life needs to be shared with the world. Are they able to come to an agreement on what should be done with the journal?

Returning to her hometown, Bellamy is home to tell her parents that she doesn’t wish to complete her doctorate in London. She has completed all the study sessions and paths her parents have pushed her to do. But she is tired of studying and wishes to finally be able to teach, with high school children her class of choice rather than the professors her parents want her to be teaching. With her grandparents celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary now is the time to stand up for her life.

There is a difference between knowing something and it actually happening, something Aiden is aware of as his high school sweetheart returns to town for her grandparent’s anniversary. His heart never fully recovered from her ending things and moving away, an added kick to his heart when she attempts to hide from him when they bump into each other. Commissioned to make a wooden arch for the party Aiden and his brother deliver and fit it in the garden where he gets a better view of Bellamy and she’s wearing the necklace he gave her years before.

An ultimatum was given by her parents after graduation to either give up Aiden or they wouldn’t pay for her college tuition. Bellamy was caught in the middle and had to say goodbye to Aiden. Seeing him again it is clear that her heart has never given him up but harsh words are spoken which leads to a restless night’s sleep. Taking a trip down memory lane she heads to the lake to find Aiden sitting there. As they talk and reconnect, will Bellamy be forced to make a choice again when her parents find out?
