(Secret) Baby With My Best Friend’s Ex (Playing with Trouble Book 1)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

What I was supposed to do: Help my best friend get through her breakup.
What I actually did:
Hook up with her ex and ruin our friendship.

Visiting her best friend Vicky in New York was supposed to be a chance to catch up and escape her life for Emma. However, she manages to get dragged into Vicky’s drama over splitting up with her boyfriend, Jack. Attempting to tell her she was possibly too available for him – she is high maintenance kinda gal.

Jack’s day is going from bad to worse, with his ex Vicky wanting to come and collect her belongings tonight. Now a phone call from his mother looking to stay with him for a while whilst she splits from his cheating father. Arriving home he finds his mother and Vicky fighting, however, he is distracted by Emma. Taking her outside to talk he ends up kissing her which Vicky witnesses. Needless to say, it doesn’t go down well and the girls leave, with Emma returning late as she has nowhere else to go after a fight with Vicky.

Hooking up with her best friend’s ex was not the plan, neither was falling pregnant. After two years of not talking to Vicky, Emma reaches out and heads back to New York with her son Ben to help plan Vicky’s wedding. Finally ready to tell Jack about his son, it doesn’t quite go to plan when their chemistry overrules rational thought and they hook up again. However, Emma does eventually tell him and they adjust to a relationship, although he isn’t in a hurry to meet Ben. With issues from Vicky bubbling alongside are they able to make this work?
