It’s not that I’m trouble as much as trouble follows me everywhere.
Especially when it comes to the Caribou Creek police chief, Garrett Bradley.
Every time I cross paths with a man too sexy for his own good, trouble follows.
Running late for her shift at the diner, Aurora is pushing her car Bess to the limit in order not to incur the wrath of Grandma Rose. Pulled over by the piece she hopes that it isn’t Garrett the Police Chief – the man she keeps spilling drinks on as he makes her nervous. Luck is not on her side as it is not only Garrett but it appears that there is a warrant out for her arrest. Finding herself locked up and facing a $500 bail-out bond she opts to call another waitress to cover her shift rather than someone to come and help her out of jail.
Garrett has spent a lot of time in the diner over the summer, not least due to the beautiful Aurora who he can’t seem to get out of his mind. His sister returns to Caribou Creek after leaving her ex-husband and he calls on Jade to bring money from his safe to post bail for Aurora. Pleased to find that Aurora subsequently gets Jade a job at the diner and is keen to repay the debt as soon as possible. For months they have been dancing around each other but her arrest has put each other closer than they would like as the air crackles around them.
Aurora confesses that she has been attempting to learn how to cook, Garrett offers to help her which leads to them sharing their first kiss – but duty calls and Garrett is called away. Whilst Aurora is keen to continue where they left off and get him out of her system she knows that she’ll always want more when it comes to the Police Chief. As things heat up between them she finds herself distracted and wonders if all her hard work at the diner has been for nothing. Are they able to find a balance to their spark to ensemble them to do their jobs?
