Family is everything to Quinn, she has dedicated her life to looking after her mom over the last few years. Her mom losing her battle with cancer, Quinn has decided to sell the family home and run away to the mountains for three months – giving her time to grieve and finally write a book she has wanted to do. Arriving after a long drive she is awkward around the hunky mountain man she has rented the lower floor of the cabin from.

Sawyer has always loved living on the mountain especially as it became a place of refuge when he found his wife cheating on him. Divorcing her, he refused to get drawn into battles with her. A short-term rental booking has him beginning to open his eyes to the world, especially as Quinn starts to get under his skin. From muffins, broken generators etc. she worms her way into his head and his side of the cabin.

Her time in Grand Lake was supposed to be about healing and writing except Quinn finds herself drawn to Sawyer. Blowing hot and cold towards her she finds ways to press his buttons and give him a chance to awaken the alpha male caveman side of his personality. But as his ex arrives with a baby in tow, Quinn realises that he’ll always put them first and ends her time in Grand Lake early. Although it appears that she might have a lasting reminder of her time with Sawyer – but what happens now?

The last time I saw Willow Taylor, I was chased out of town by her brothers with a target on my back and her broken heart in my hands.

Loan officer Willow is happy for her friends to have started finding their happily ever after. However, her HEA walked away 15 years ago taking her heart with him. Landon leaves town after he snuck out of her bedroom and left her a note. Hearing that his father has died and that Landon will be returning to sort out the estate has her questioning how she will feel about it. Ducking behind her computer as he comes into the bank and seemingly doesn’t recognise her.

Leaving Willow behind all those years ago has to be one of the hardest things Landon has ever had to do. But he doesn’t want to return now that his dad, Silas, has died but he is forced to do things in person. he leaves his life in Denver behind to face his past, from the actions of his deadbeat, drug-peddling dad, Willow and his actions that forced him to leave in the first place.

Reconnecting with Willow his heart still beats for her but there is no way for him to stay long term not that her family would allow him to anyway. Willow offers to help him with his dad’s old house, and they grow close again. Landon is not forthcoming with the secrets from his past although he does attempt to make amends with the Slade Brothers following a revelation from Silas a few years ago. Will Willow be able to forgive Landon for past actions? or are they destined to go their separate ways again?

Remi can hardly recall a time in his life when his best friend August wasn’t part of it. They have so much history together including sleeping together before she left Grand Lake for college. Something that was life-changing for Remi but August chalked it up as a mistake and for the first time, their friendship was truly tested. Thankfully they stayed friends and for the past eighteen years or so he has loved her from afar. Sharing a kiss here and there as well as sleeping together again, he questions what they are to each other.

Leaving Grand Lake for college August always knew that she would return to her hometown – and Remi. Seeing one of her friends get married and others happy with children etc. August is questioning her life and her love for Remi. Despite having a deep friendship and sparks between them Remi seems to be pulling away from her and she’s heartbroken by it, just like she has been over the years of their will-they/won’t-they relationship.

Opting to date other people, Remi enjoys his time with Leigh but holds back from getting intimate with her. Whilst August gets swept up by the new local doctor with his demanding nature, feeling somewhat out of her depth with him she just goes with what he wants – including a surprise engagement. Is Remi ready to accept his feelings for August even though she is set to marry someone else? Will August be able to marry someone who is not Remi?

Moving to Grand Lake from Boulder, Leigh has been working in the local gym to see whether this could be the location for her second pilates studio. She had started to date a local man Remi but realised that whilst she had a love for him, he was still in love with his best friend so she made the courageous decision to walk away and push him to follow his heart. She has thrown herself into her classes, although has noticed that local doctor Grant has been attending more frequently with his ‘I am God’ personality.

Although it was a mutual decision in the end not to go through with the wedding to August, Grant still harbours some bitter feelings towards the situation. Placing some of the blame for the relationship breakdown on Leigh’s shoulders as she broke up with Remi who then expressed his love to August. Working as a General Practitioner he is splitting his time between Denver and Grand Lake, finding ways to be around Leigh and demanding dates etc from her.

Self-assured Grant rubs Leigh up the wrong way, yet there is a part of her that likes his bossy nature. One night together results in a surprise pregnancy but just as she prepares to tell him she has a miscarriage. Drawn together over the loss she falls for the demanding doctor but he thinks that they should slow things down. Pulled apart by work schedules they have time to contemplate what the future looks like and who they will be sharing it with – but will it be together or apart?

Waiting For Forever (Men of Rocky Mountain Book 5)

Steph knows that she has already stayed longer in Grand Lake than she originally planned. She has made friends and even kick-started a career. Having recently given up her bartender job to manage a pilates studio for her friend Leigh and trained as an instructor. She lives her life waiting for her past to catch up with her as she left behind an abusive husband in Wyoming a few years ago. Having gone through the foster care system she thought that Daryl was rescuing her, instead, she lived in fear that one day he would go too far and kill her.

Ryder made the move to Grand Lake around a year ago, moving to the area to be the new Fire Chief at the fire station. Five years ago he lost his wife and their unborn daughter in a car accident, feeling as though he has had his slice of happiness he is content in many ways to live on his own. He does, however, enjoy his friendship with Steph who he met when she was working at the local bar. Their friendship grows, they finally share a kiss and Ryder’s heart is awoken by his feelings for her.

He holds back as much as he can to give her time and space but is frantic when her husband snatches her and he needs to rescue her. Attempting to find a way to move forward with her life, Steph opts to go back to Daryl to gather evidence on him but will this be a mistake that she can never come back from? Ryder struggles not to be the white knight for her and knows that she needs to live her life without a man controlling it for her. Can they find a way to be together? Or is friendship all they can hope for?
