Sophie Ranald is the youngest of five sisters. She was born in Zimbabwe and lived in South Africa until an acute case of itchy feet brought her to London in her mid-20s. As an editor for a customer publishing agency, Sophie developed her fiction-writing skills describing holidays to places she’d never visited.
In 2011, she decided to disregard all the good advice given to aspiring novelists and attempt to write full-time. After one false start, It Would Be Wrong to Steal My Sister’s Boyfriend (Wouldn’t It?) seemed to write itself, and six more novels have followed. Sophie also writes for magazines and online about food, fashion, finance and fitness. She lives in south-east London with her amazing partner Hopi and their two adorable cats.

How much would you change yourself to get a man?
What if he was your sister’s boyfriend?
Sitting on the sofa wearing her comfy’s and not even a bra, Ellie’s world would take a turn when her younger sister Rose brings home her new boyfriend, Oliver. A Groom With a View (Jul 2014) by Sophie Ranald
When you’re tying the knot, you can end up in a tangle…
I struggled to get into this book. Pippa and Nick have been together more or less since they were sixteen years old. Despite attending weddings of their friends they’ve never considered tying the knot themselves. A drunken night leads to a proposal to each other and the ball starts rolling on their wedding.
A story about relationships (romantic and that with your in-laws), picking your battles and finding a happy ever after.

It’s Not You, It’s Him (Jun 2019) by Sophie Ranald
New Year’s Eve. The most overrated night of the year, right? I have to get through an evening of enforced fun, drink all the prosecco and talk about new beginnings. But I don’t want new beginnings. I want my old beginning back.

Out with the Ex, In with the New (Dec 2019) by Sophie Ranald
You know when you sleep through your alarm, trip over running for the bus, and then someone points out that your dress is stuck into your hotdog-print knickers? That’s basically my life right now.
Available to buy from Amazon in Paperback, Audiobook and Kindle Edition
No, We Can’t Be Friends (Jan 2020) by Sophie Ranald
He was perfect. Denim-blue eyes, a dazzling smile. And he hadn’t sent me a picture of his junk. Which is about as rare, these days, as a Dodo.
Available to buy from Amazon in Paperback, Audiobook and Kindle Edition.
Just Saying (Jul 2020) by Sophie Ranald
When the inflatable hot tub my boyfriend hired for a surprise deflated with me in it, spilling water everywhere and almost flooding our flat, I should have known it was a sign…
A scandal at work involving her future boss leaves Alice without a job to go to once her training is over. It appears that Gordon has been sexually harassing female staff members and is currently under investigation. **Trigger warning for sexual assault references and the #MeToo movement**. Alice leaves after a meeting with HR to discuss her future which leaves her feeling shocked and overwhelmed. A passerby comes to her aid as she makes her way home and takes her for sweet sherry. She ends up staying all afternoon and helping out behind the bar.
Whilst bar work might not have been what she had in her life plan, she is finding it more fulfilling than her time training to be a solicitor. With a drop in income, Joe suggests that they get a lodger to cover her share whilst she thinks about what she would like to do in the future. One problem, a big problem actually… It’s Joe’s ex-girlfriend from Uni, someone that he once loved – would he fall back in love with her whilst they are under the same roof.
I liked that the book touched on Alice having problems in most areas of her life, just like the rest of us. Although, whilst it was an easy-ish story to follow, I wasn’t enthralled enough to want to see what happened next.

When he proposed, I had to pinch myself. Up until then, his most romantic gesture was buying me a 128-piece tool kit.
