Mika is inexperienced and no matter how attractive she finds Tanner she is unsure how she is supposed to seduce him. She reads the book suggestions listed in Caitlyn’s letter and seeks advice from the resort Chef and Mrs Donnelly who appear to know Tanner. Slowly she gains confidence and with the help of Tanner they begin the path to connection, but can they make these things work between them, because once she gives herself to him there is no going back.

Kylie is practically jumping up and down when she discovers a vintage Chanel bag for $2 in the hospice thrift store. Returning to the small flat she shares she gets to work on removing the shredded lining when she discovers a ring with a tag attached highlighting it was grandma leaving a ring to her grandson Theo. Alongside a gift certificate for a mountain lodge resort. Deciding to head over to the grandson’s home the next day she is greeted by a dog who doesn’t wish to let her leave, making her lose one of her jobs.

Heading home after a call to the station about his retired K9 holding another woman hostage on his porch. Arriving he spots the beautiful Kylie who he instantly feels protective of and secretly pleased Enby kept her hostage. Although his recent habit of holding virgins hostage is turning into a pain in his butt. Discovering that his late Grandma is somehow involved in this interaction as Kylie tells him about a ring she found and attempts to give back to him.

Heading out for dinner with Theo, Kylie is nervous about the cost especially as she lost her record store job but Theo insists on taking care of everything. Including taking her home which suddenly leads to her moving in after a police bust on one of her roommates. But as she spends more time with him and they plan to marry it appears that not everyone is pleased about their union.

Joe
Something’s dimmed Nira’s smile. When I press her, she says some guy doesn’t love her back, and she needs a fresh start. What idiot could refuse Nira’s heart? As head of security for her dad’s company and Nira’s former bodyguard, I’m pissed that this happened under my nose without me knowing about it.

Sorting out arrangements for her half sister’s wedding Nira’s heart constricts as she sees her head of security Joe head over and whisper into a beauty’s ear. Heading her way he takes her back to their suite and heads back out again leaving her pondering about him connecting with another woman, He soon reappears and puts her mind at ease until he spots her wearing his old hockey jersey. You see Joe has been babysitting.guarding her since she was thirteen and he was benched by her father’s team for an injury. Falling in love with him along the way but it is clear he doesn’t feel the same.

Retired hockey player Josef (Joe) has been working as security for Nira’s father for the past ten years. Nira being part of his security detail since his old coach arranged things. The last few days have been strange as he has barely seen Nira after she returned his hockey jersey. Whilst he knows that she is busy with the upcoming wedding her father is making her organise and be part of the staff rather than the wedding party. It takes a chat to one of the other security guards to see what has been happening in front of his eyes.

Stealing herself to the effect that Joe has upon her, Nirta has decided that enough is enough and she needs to love her own life. A middle of the night visit from Joe has her questioning everything and attempting to understand if he is serious about plans for their future. But as they attempt to get everything organised the wedding plans throw a potential spanner in the works for them.

Esme
My mom guilts me into my ‘first real job’ providing post-op care for a wounded veteran. I went to school for wildlife biology… turns out they have a few things in common, but looking after the grumpy SEAL isn’t quite the same as banding marmots. Dallas
I’m a stubborn cuss and even I know an innocent young woman like Esme can do better than me. I’m thankful to be getting my life back, but she’s too damn young to be attached to it. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t enjoy keeping her, though. And apparently I’m not strong enough to push her away if she’s going to go crawling into my bed at every opportunity. Even a SEAL has limits.

Since finishing college and gaining her degree in wildlife conservation Esme has been unable to find a position. Her parents suggest that she takes a short term job helping to take care of an injured Navy SEAL as he recovers from surgery. Staying at the lodge with him to ensure that he eats, takes his medications and completes his rehab. Although the way he was first described to her is not the late thirties man who lays before her in a hospital bed.

Receiving an injury a few years ago Dallas was unable to have an operation to remove the shrapnel that was lodged closed to his spine. Over time this has moved and is currently pressing against his lungs. His previous doctor will be completing the surgery and the Men of A Corp who he lives with in mountains has arranged for him to stay in a lodge closer to the hospital with a carer whilst he recovers enough to come home.

Grumpy from the surgery and life Dallas is somewhat pleased that Esme doesn’t chatter away as they drive to their temporary home. Attempted to get settled, Esme completes all of her care tasks for Dallas and can’t help but find him attractive. Feeling it is not returned she keeps quiet until she hears him one evening and decides to plan an early morning seduction. Whilst Dallas would love nothing more than to sink into Esme he realises that she is a virgin and they need to take their time and he isn’t letting her go.
