Home nurse Isabella has been caring for her grandmother’s best friend Lottie who has become a surrogate grandmother to her after she died. With Lottie’s health declining she is aware of how precious each day is with her. Still managing to enjoy a few exercise sessions dancing to rap music with her. Much to her grandson’s dismay, the music choice rather than the dancing. Lottie is aware of the love that Isabella holds for her youngest grandson Lucas.
Lucas Blaze has always been close to his grandmother, opting to remain living with her as she becomes frail and requires home care. He hired Isabella to help during the day with his grandmother although he doesn’t understand the way she makes him feel when he sees her dancing with his grandmother. Standing at her sister’s wedding reception, Lilian is pleased to see Carrie so happy. Taking a step back as he knew she was not dating but it appears there has been a change in this status now that Carrie is married.
Attending a date at the Whistler bar, Lilian is surprised to see Ford and Austin sitting at the bar. Although with no connection to her date, setting him up with the waitress she accepts a lift home from Ford. Their lives cross as she attends Ollie’s soccer game and saves Ford from an eager soccer mom with a kiss that ignites something in both of them. Ford wonders if he is too old for her as she lives her life for herself for the first time. Lilian is drawn into Ford and Ollie’s life and finds that it feels as though she should have always been there.
