As Abi starts discussing plans with her boyfriend Joseph as to what they could do for their year anniversary. Joseph suddenly decides that they should split, telling her that they aren’t compatible. Abi descends into a spiral of self-pity. Taking to her flat and only appearing for essentials.

After a dramatic haircut and returning to work Abi is starting the think that she can attempt to start her life again. However, Joseph leaves a box with all her things in from his house. Finding his things to do before I’m 40 lists she decides that the perfect way to win him back is to complete the bucket list. Even if almost all of them make her shake with fear.

Setting out to complete the list she makes a new group of friends via one of her work colleagues. Including Ben who takes pity on her when he hears the real lesson about why she is completing the Bucket list and offers to help her.

The Good Girlfriend’s Guide to Getting Even (2017) by Anna Bell

Lexi and will have been dating for seven years and although they live together and have a joint mortgage, that’s as close as they have gotten to commitment. Life has been kind of stale in the romance stakes, with Lexi somewhat of a sporting widow. Life planned around what sporting event is taking place that week etc.

When Will fakes food poisoning to miss one of Lexi’s best friends wedding she finds out via a text message from a work colleague who spots him on Sky Sports! She is mad, really mad! Instead of having it out with him, she opts for a little dose of revenge. Although things don’t quite go to plan.

An easy read but not one that you are desperate to see what happens next.

It Started With a Tweet (2017) by Anna Bell

Daisy shares her life on social media. From the antics from a hen night, photos of drinks and everything in between. It’s even part of her job as a marketing manager. However, a cheeky tweet before a Tinder date finds her in hot water as it goes out from her work account rather than her personal one. Needless to say, she is fired.

Fearing that her life is in tatters, her sister convinces her to complete digital detox. Which turns out to be a rouse for helping her do up a farmhouse she has bought in Cumbria. With her fingers still twitching to access social media, she realises that maybe they both need a little time away from the real world. But can a busy city girl really last in the remote hills?

An easy read, with a journey through sibling relationships, misconceptions and life-changing decisions.

However, that is the last conversation that they have. Ben sadly passes away in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition. Upon hearing the news Izzy rushes home but is overcome with emotion. Luckily a fellow commuter takes her under his wing and ensures that she gets home safely.

Two years have passed since her brother’s death and whilst her Instagram following is slowly growing she’s still working a day job in insurance to pay the bills. A chance Interaction with a colleague leads to a fake romance – because you can’t believe everything you see on Instagram. The plan is to date for a while and then break up once they had increased their followings and had brand sign-ups.

Bumping into the helpful commuter, Aidan, who puts Izzy into a spin. Not only is she grateful for him helping her but she finds herself falling in love despite being very much happy to be single. Is it possible to have a fake life on social media and a different real life?

Four years ago on a night out with friends, Ellie bumps into her high school crush, Max. They hit it off and end up together with their second child on the way. However, life changes overnight for them when Max suddenly can’t remember the last few years of his life. Thinking that Ellie is still just his little sister’s nerdy friend, forgetting all about family dramas in his life etc.

Whilst there is hope that Max will regain his memory, Ellie dedicates her time to get him to fall back in love with her and discover the life that they once had. Although there is a different version of Max appearing and Ellie begins to like this one more than the one she married.
